Grantwriting workshop set for nonprofits at SUNY incubator
The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is sponsoring a grantwriting workshop for area nonprofits. “Grantwriting: Getting your Ducks In A Row” will be Wednesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the SUNY Fredonia Technology Incubator at 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Nonprofit representatives and grant writers are encouraged to attend.
The workshop will cover developing a project budget that aligns with your project, organizational budgets vs. project budgets, what funders (such as foundations, corporations, and government) are looking for in a project budget, critical document requirements, and avoiding misuse of funds. Jody Falkner, the workshop facilitator, has an associate’s degree in Business from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute and a Micro MBA from the University at Buffalo, and over 20 years of experience in grant writing and project management.
She has gained valuable expertise spanning the full cycle of the grant proposal and management processes through her research and development of grant proposals and budgets for local funders and state and federal government agencies. In her employment at Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES, Falkner oversees all grant expenditures, procurement, and outcome reporting, ensuring all activities are within grant compliance. Individuals can register for the workshop at nccfoundation.org/gettingyourducksinarow. Please direct questions to Eileen Ardillo, eardillo@nccfoundation.org.
